Celebrating Summer Solstice & National Indigenous Peoples day

This year’s Summer Solstice celebration was a vibrant day of our community’s spirit, traditions, and shared values.

This year’s event, themed “Honoring the Sun and Our Traditions,” was a meaningful gathering that emphasized the importance of staying connected to our cultural roots

On June 21st, 2024, from dawn until dusk, we gathered at Aga Khan Museum for our annual Summer Solstice celebration.

The event was filled with traditional ceremonies, storytelling, and performances that celebrated the rich heritage of our people.

The celebration also featured a diverse range of activities, including traditional games, craft workshops, and cultural performances that kept everyone engaged throughout the day.

The lively atmosphere was enhanced by vendors offering a variety of traditional foods and handmade cultural items, creating a marketplace that was both vibrant and meaningful.

Chi-miigwech to all the performers, Elders, volunteers, and community members who came together to make this day a wonderful experience for all.
